Overview

In January 2023, Gravity Resources was awarded a 2 + 2 Year contract for the provision of up to 40 technical personnel per year, to supplement the Rio Tinto permanent workforce at the Yarwun site in Gladstone, QLD.  The scope was for Project and Shutdown Management support services and included recruitment, onboarding and management support services.

Positions included:

  • Superintendents
  • Supervisors
  • Inspectors
  • Safety
  • Logistics
  • Cost Controls
  • Planning and Scheduling
  • Administration

In November 2023, Rio Tino held a formal performance review with Gravity Resources and the benefits of engaging us were as follows:  

  • Nil recordable safety incidents.

  • Excellent retention of employees - 100% of personnel from the first Shutdown returned for the second Shutdown.  This provided excellent continuity and saved in onboarding and demobilisation costs.

  • 47% of personnel that were recruited were locals, demonstrating high local content and ensuring significant cost saving for Rio Tinto.

  • 100% Compliance with commercial KPI’s.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication between Gravity Resources and Rio Tinto to mobilise workforce within short timeframes.
